(PHOTOS)2015 OJUDE-OBA FESTIVAL WAS CELEBRATE SMOOTHLY THIS WEEKEND

The town of Ijebu Ode was agog on
September 26, 2015 as dignitaries from all
works of life trooped into the town to 
celebrate the annual Ojude Oba
Festival.

Olorogun Dr. Sunny Kuku led his family
members to a grand entrance at the arena
which elicited cheers from the mammoth
crowd.


The festival which is fast becoming Nigeria’s
most attended festival, is annually hosted by
the paramount ruler of Ijebu land, His Royal
Majesty, the Awujale of the Ijebu Kingdom,
Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.

The event which took place at the Dipo Dina
International Stadium opposite the Oba’s
palace, was filled with traditional dance,
cultural displays and colourful attires of the
participants.

As usual, all the groups and families goes
round the venue acknowledging cheers from
the people before mounting the podium to pay
homage to Oba Adetona.

The event was graced by prominent Nigerians
which include the Ogun state governor,
Ibikunle Amosu, Bayelsa state governor,
Seriake Dickson, former Defense minister,
Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd), Ogun state
deputy governor, Mrs. Yetunde Abosede
Onanuga, former Ogun state governor, Gbenga
Daniel, former Bayelsa state governor,
Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, Elder states man,
Chief Ayo Adebanjo, former senators, Gbenga
Kaka, Olurunimbe Mamora, Olabyi Durojaiye
(Ijebu indigene) and Daisy Danjuma, Musician,
Queen Slawa Abeni, Billionaires Oskar Ibru,
Olorogun Dr. Sunny Kuku, who is an indigene
of Ijebu land and Otunba Subomi Balogun.

The town usually wears Globacom’s trademark
lemon green colour as branded parasols, kiosks,
and event-specific banners dot the nooks and
crannies of the ancient town. Even a first time
visitor to the town needs no explanation to
understand that this festival has become
synonymous with Globacom (glo).
The company’s sponsorship of the event has
raised it to an enviable tourists’ delight which
attracts people from all walks of life and from
other parts of the country.
